Rick Fitzgerald is a Denver-based pop artist with a
background in graphic design and a lifelong habit
of visual storytelling. His work mixes painting, mixed
media, and sculpture, often tackling social themes
with a mix of humor, empathy, and a little cosmic
doubt. Influenced by the likes of Marcel Duchamp,
John Cage, Banksy, and David Lynch to name just a few,
his pieces are equally at home in a contemporary street
art exhibit or a collector’s living room with a love for
social pop commentary.
Rick pulls from a 30 year career in branding and
communication design across music, film, spirits,
and health to turn big ideas into bold, stripped down
visuals. He shares his studio with his mischievous pup
and occasional muse, Soke.
He’s shown work at the Denver Fringe Festival, Rising Gallery, Spectra
Art Space, Yorktown Art Gallery and holds artist residencies
at The Giving Tree and Liquid Culture. Most recently, he
is part of the opening exhibit at The Inner Circle Gallery
in Longhope, England, an international street art
inspired show.
Rick’s approach is about saying the most with the
least, maximum message, minimum method with
just enough grit and texture to keep you looking.
